Working with MSF : Logisticians

The administrative logistician is responsible for the technical and operational support of the medical activities which usually includes processing of orders, bookkeeping, purchasing supplies on the local market, store keeping, obtaining permits, supervising local staff, taking care of transport, safety and security, communications and reporting. Logisticians attempt to ensure that the medical teams have all they need in order to go to work every day, in a context that often has very little to start from. Their responsibilities involve frequent contacts with local staff, local authorities and any other relevant organizations. This calls for excellent communication skills and the ability to work completely independently.
