Financial Coordinators

Financial Coordinators work in the capital city of the mission country and their main task is to ensure that funds intended for medical and humanitarian assistance are best used for the benefit of the target population. The Financial Coordinator is responsible for the financial accounting for all MSF projects in the country, budget planning, project documentation, and financial reporting. Other responsibilities include providing support for field administrators in the finance area. In smaller missions, the Financial Coordinator will also be responsible for human resources management. The Financial Coordinator works together with a team of local staff.

Essential Requirements

  • Completed training and qualification in the field of finance (e.g., business studies)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working in finance, controlling, accounting, and budgeting
  • Active knowledge of MS Excel
  • Experience in human resources management
  • Able to improvise and negotiate
  • Able to go on mission for a minimum of 6 to 12 months
  • Able to live and work in a team
  • Able to lead and train others
  • Willing to work in an unstable environment
  • Flexible and able to cope with stress
  • Able to work with limited resources
  • Experience living or working in developing countries
