Face-to-face and door-to-door fundraising
We are raising awareness of our work and securing financial support by speaking directly to people. Our colleagues are engaging with the public at events, on the streets, and through door-to-door outreach, so you may encounter them in all of these settings. In many countries around the world, this form of direct contact is a common and popular way of communicating with the public and gaining support for our patients.

Why we are engaging with you
Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent medical and humanitarian organisation. Globally, 98% of our operations are funded by private donors – in other words, people like you. We receive no funding from the Czech government.
That is why we:
- meet people face to face;
- explain what we do;
- build a community of donors;
- try to raise awareness of the importance of regular giving.
Personal contact is one of the most effective ways of securing long-term support for people who need it most.
Where you can meet us
We currently operate in Prague. You can meet our face-to-face (F2F) colleagues on the street and in public spaces, in shopping centres and at select metro stations. Our friendly door-to-door (D2D) teams may visit your neighbourhood anywhere in Prague and will be happy to speak with you.
- We’ll share stories from our humanitarian projects;
- we’ll offer you the chance to join Donors Without Borders and save lives together with us;
- you will be free to ask us about anything you’d like to know.
We always respect your decision – you can say no at any time – and your privacy is critical to us.
Our fundraisers
Our fundraising colleagues connect with people like you face to face. They share stories from Médecins Sans Frontières’ medical and humanitarian work and encourage people to support the organisation over the long term through regular donations. Thanks to our regular donors – Donors Without Borders – we can respond wherever natural disasters, armed conflicts, or epidemics put people's lives at risk.
You may come across members of our fundraising team on your way home from work, or they may even knock on your door. They are always professional and respectful. You can, of course, also use the conversation as an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
How to recognise them
Our fundraisers always wear a white vest with the Médecins Sans Frontières logo and an ID card with their name, photograph, and unique identification number. You’ll usually spot them on the streets at a stand bearing the Médecins Sans Frontières logo.
Important: our fundraisers never accept cash or carry collection boxes.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at dary@lekari-bez-hranic.cz or call us at +420 793 985 395.
Why are regular donations so important?
Regular support means making recurring donations, typically on a monthly basis, in an amount chosen by the donor. This gives us the stability to plan ahead and make every donation go as far as possible. Thanks to this, we are ready to respond where it is most needed and help as many people as possible.
Thanks to your regular donations, we are able to:
- be ready to respond immediately when a crisis strikes;
- plan projects more effectively;
- remain completely independent – we receive no funding from the Czech government.
How to become a regular donor - Donor Without Borders
You can easily set up your regular gift on one of our fundraiser’s tablets, using the official Médecins Sans Frontières donation form on Darujme.cz. There you can choose the monthly amount you would like to donate. If you change your mind, you can stop donating at any time. It’s a simple, safe, and convenient way to make a lasting difference for people affected by crises.
The information you enter is strictly protected and will not be shared with any other organisation. It is important to us that donating is secure and entirely under your control.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude and we greatly appreciate your decision to become a Donor Without Borders. It is a sign of empathy, solidarity and humanity.
