HR managers

MSF HR managers provide HR support on projects, train the local HR team and may work in the capital to develop and implement HR strategy to ensure a safe and fair workplace where staff are able to build successful careers.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing HR strategies and proper administrative management of human resources (locally and internationally hired staff).
  • Ensuring optimal human resources planning.
  • Supporting staff through phases of employment – from recruitment to termination of contract (including performance appraisal, remuneration, management, training and development).
  • Managing contracts, payroll and social security contributions, insurance, travel, residence and work permits.
  • Overseeing compliance with internal guidelines as well as country-specific legislation and labor laws.
  • Representing MSF in meetings with authorities and other nongovernmental organizations on HR and administrative matters.
  • Supervising and training the local HR support team.

Depending on the assigned position, HR managers work in a project directly or, after gaining direct project experience, be hired for assignment in the capital as part of the coordination team – with regular visits to individual projects.

Requirements

  • Completed secondary or higher education in HR, administration or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a relevant field (after graduation).
  • Versatile work experience (including employment law, benchmarking, payroll, recruitment, employee development).
  • IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of English.
  • Ability to work on assignment for at least 6 to 12 months.
  • General requirements for all professions also apply.

Desirable

  • Ability to adapt HR methods to different working and legal environments and national labour legislation.
  • In some projects, management roles in HR and finance are combined – we are therefore looking for candidates who meet the requirements of both positions.
