From the development of a Learning & Development strategy in the mission to giving specialist support to local learning initiatives, the personal development manager will contribute to the quality of MSF operations by strengthening the autonomy, performance and development of staff. All this will be done according to MSF’s human resources vision and values. 

Your job 

As a personnel development manager with MSF, your tasks may include: 

  • To knows MSF’s recruitment and development policies, procedures and tools, adapt them to the context and ensure an efficient and accountable implementation  
  • To ensure the link between the different phases of the employee life cycle (recruitment, induction, performance management, learning & development) 
  • To provide expertise to all people involved in recruitment process: first screening of CVs, interview methods, detection of potentials, best practices 
  • To knows MSF’s induction policies, procedures and tools, adapt them to the context and ensure proper implementation for all newly recruited/arrived staff  
  • To follow up the quality and impact of briefing and induction processes 
  • To suggests career paths and to follow-up of individual development plans for staff  
  • Provide expertise and support to all coordinators/supervisors/activity managers on how to implement PMS (tools, method, setting up objectives, follow up of action plan and best practices) with the aim to evaluate and develop competencies of the staff they supervise. 
  • To contribute to the implementation of a mission training policy 
  • To collaborate with the relevant coordinators in developing the annual plan and budget 
 

Requirements 

  • A Degree in HR, Management and/or Training & Coaching 
  • At least 2 years post-qualification work experience in HR development 
  • A good level of English  
  • Availability of at least 6 to 12 months 
 

Assets 

  • Other languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian) are highly appreciated

  • International experience (work experience or travel experience in countries of the Global South is an advantage)  
  • Experience in team leadership

  • Willingness for a second assignment abroad with Doctors Without Borders
